JUST GROUNDS CAFE
Just Love Initiative's Restorative Cafe Brand Guide and Logos

In my Visual Communication Design course, we partnered with Just Love Initiative which is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the community and restorative justice. Just Love Initiative is currently in the process of opening a Restorative Justice Café in Downtown Harrisonburg and they asked the SMAD (School of Media Arts and Design) Department to help brand their current initiative along with the new café, called Just Grounds. I worked alongside a partner throughout the entire creative process and they did the Just Love Initiative rebranding, meanwhile, I branded Just Grounds Café.
CHARITY:WATER
Non-Profit Campaign
For one of my courses, we had to create a campaign for a non-profit organization. I choose charity:water, which is an organization that provides clean drinking water to people in developing nations. I created a poster, a web banner, an infographic, a water bottle logo, and a potential Instagram slide post.
GIRL SCOUTS BROCHURE
Harrisonburg Non-Profit Tri-Fold Brochure

In one of my digital and visual communication design courses, I learned about layout, contrast, white space, and visual hierarchy through creating a tri-fold brochure for a non-profit organization in InDesign.
HARRY POTTER BOOK COVER
Book Cover Redesign

One of my earliest projects using Illustrator, was to recreate a book cover to show an overall understanding of the book and theme. I chose the first book in the Harry Potter series using the professor's head for the front and Voldemort for the back, while mimicking the overall concept of what I believed a spellbook would look like. This project not only taught me about design themes but also the importance of sizing and proportions.
SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED.
Here + There Book Project

Using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, I had to create a picture book and content about two different locations that have impacted me. One of the locations had to be my current residence, which I choose my hometown of Clifton, VA and the other was Belgium. Using Photoshop, I had to combine multiple images to create a photo composite of the two places. I then wrote about my journey from being a shy child to being who I am today.
STOP THE SPREAD SIGNAGE
James Madison University's Stop the Spread Signage and Research for Greek Row

Through research on COVID-19, JMU’s Policies, signage, and logos, I created a set of 4 logos to use for on-campus COVID-19 signs for my Visual Communication Design course. I decided to design signs in Illustrator for JMU’s Greek Row and took a more fun and bright approach to signage.
